Reclaimed Water: From Toilet to Tap

In southern California, reclaimed water is generally used on golf courses, in jails and in landscaping. This water is not used for potable drinking water.
In new developments and subdivisions, two pipelines are being laid: One to transport drinking water and the other to transport recycled water. While this would be impractical in subdivisions that are already constructed, installing two pipelines from the outset are a viable water conservation measure.
