Santa Cruz Building a Plant to Turn Sea Water into Drinking Water (video)
July 24, 2007 - One possible solution to dealing with water shortage is to convert ocean water into potable water.
Santa Cruz is doing just that with its pilot desalination plant which is expected to remove salt from ocean water in order to
create 72,000 gallons of drinking water per day. Desalinated water costs about three times more than conventional water sources.
