In New Mexico, the Zuni Indians and local residents are voicing their concerns about Great Western Land and Cattle Company’s application to pump approximately 7,700 acre-feet per annum from Catron County. On the Federal level, Congress approved the 2007 Water Resources Development Act last week. This bipartisan bill would authorize Federal investments into flood control projects and other infrastructure in order to help with natural disasters.
