- New suite integrates water quality, compliance, and sustainability.
- AI-ready platform eliminates data silos and system incompatibility.
- Built for utilities, with tools spanning source to discharge.
- Early adopters can access a migration incentive program.
Wednesday, April 30, 2025 — Yesterday, Locus Technologies introduced Locus Water, the first fully integrated, cloud-based software suite designed specifically for water utilities. The platform marks a significant shift in how drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater systems can manage regulatory compliance, sustainability goals, and public health initiatives—all within a single digital ecosystem.
“Utilities have struggled with fragmented, outdated, or single-purpose systems for too long,” said Neno Duplan, founder and CEO of Locus Technologies. “That’s why Locus Water is a game-changer for water pros trying to keep up with everything from DMRs, CCRs, PFAS and compliance to cyber security and customer outreach. We’re unifying the entire water lifecycle – from source to discharge and from metrics to quality.”
Eight Tools, One Platform.
Locus Water includes eight interoperable modules:
- Drinking Water Compliance.
- Backflow Prevention.
- Industrial Pretreatment.
- Water Metrics.
- Stormwater Inspections.
- Test Equipment Management.
- Watershed Maintenance.
- Customer Complaints Management.
These applications are designed to allow water professionals to collect, analyze, and report data across departments and regulatory requirements, without redundancies or technical inconsistencies. Additional applications are in development and being beta tested with several U.S. water districts.
Future-Ready and Configurable.
What sets Locus Water apart is its architecture. It is built on a multitenant, metadata-driven SaaS platform, meaning users can adapt quickly to changing regulatory demands, emerging contaminants, or environmental, health, and safety (EHS) obligations. All tools in the suite share a unified user interface and support real-time data input from mobile devices, IoT sensors, and API-connected systems. Key features include enterprise-grade security, a reporting dashboard, GIS capabilities, Single Sign-On (SSO), and customizable workflow tools.
“Water is the world’s most precious resource, and it warrants technology that rises to that level of significance,” said Duplan. “Locus Water enables true digital transformation and raises the bar for the entire industry.”
Legacy and Adoption.
Locus Technologies has a long-standing presence in water data management, with its software used by municipal water districts across the country for more than a decade. The company has launched a transition incentive program to assist utilities with adopting the new suite.
Headquartered in Mountain View, California, Locus has pioneered SaaS for environmental and sustainability compliance since 1997. Its clients include San Jose Water Company, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Chevron, and the Los Alamos National Laboratory.
