Video: Water pressures are converging across the American West

Water pressures across the American West are converging faster than most people realize.

This week’s water news video examines Arizona’s expanding data center proposals, the approaching decision on how the Colorado River will be managed after 2026, and what shrinking margins mean for communities, agriculture, and critical infrastructure across the region.

We look at new groundwater protection efforts in Arizona, the ongoing struggle to stabilize the Great Salt Lake, wildfire recovery challenges tied directly to drinking water systems, treaty obligations along the Rio Grande, and why recent storm systems do not necessarily translate into lasting drought relief.
