The Arizona Department of Water ResourcesOpens in a new tab. has launched another interactive mapping resource for the public.

The statement of claimant locator mapOpens in a new tab. allows users to search for adjudication claims using statement of claimant numbers, addresses or claimant names in the map’s search function.

Initiated in the 1970s, the “general stream adjudications” are court proceedings that will determine the extent and priority of water rights in the Gila River system and in the Little Colorado River system. There are thousands of water users who have staked their claims in the water adjudication proceedings by filing statements of claimant for domestic, irrigation, stockpond and other uses, such as municipal, industrial or stockwatering uses.  The result of the proceedings will be a comprehensive final decree of water rights for both river systems issued by the Arizona Superior Court.  Decreed water rights are valuable assets for property owners in the state.

Earlier this year, the Department of Water Resources issued an interactive subflow mapOpens in a new tab. for members of the public.
