Tuesday, June 10, 2025 — The Arizona Water Protection Fund Commission is accepting applications for its Fiscal Year 2026 grant cycle. The program supports projects across Arizona that help maintain, enhance, or restore the state’s rivers, streams, and associated riparian habitats.

Applications must be submitted electronically through the eCivis Grants Management System no later than 11:59 p.m. Arizona time on Friday, August 15, 2025. Materials, including the application manual, forms, and full grant cycle schedule, are available at azwpf.govOpens in a new tab..

Workshop Scheduled for June 11.

To assist applicants, the Arizona Water Protection Fund will host an online grant workshop on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Arizona time. The session will cover eligibility requirements, application tips, and key deadlines. A recording of the workshop will be posted on the AWPF website after the event.

Funding Categories and Purpose.

Grants are available in three categories:

  • Capital projects;
  • Research; and
  • Water conservation.

Since its inception in 1994, the Arizona Water Protection Fund has been tasked with promoting locally driven solutions backed by state resources. As outlined in Arizona Revised Statutes § 45-2101, the fund’s mission is to protect and increase water quality and quantity in accordance with existing water laws and rights.

Projects funded through the program often involve partnerships among local governments, tribal entities, non-profit organizations, and academic institutions.
