The Irrigation AssociationOpens in a new tab. has announced that July 2021 has once again been designated as Smart Irrigation MonthOpens in a new tab., which encourages the landscape and agricultural irrigation industry “to promote how using smart irrigation practices and technologies are providing solutions to today’s and tomorrow’s challenges.”  Among other things, during the month-long event, irrigation professionals are invited to share with their customers and communities how they achieve sustainable solutions by using smart irrigation technologies and practices.

Writes the AssociationOpens in a new tab., “Smart Irrigation Month kicks off on July 6 with Technology Tuesday. Irrigation professionals are encouraged to wear blue on July 6 to raise awareness about everything that makes up smart irrigation, including the people, practices and technologies that efficiently apply water to our agricultural fields, landscapes and turfgrass. Participants are encouraged to share photos of themselves wearing blue on social media using the hashtag #SmartIrrigationMonth.”

To promote efficient irrigation technologies, participants are encouraged to share their information on social media and to wear blue.  The Association provides advice on how to spread the word on its marketing resourcesOpens in a new tab. page.
